This page is dedicated to web resources that describe the Northern Virginia area, not so much the real estate part of it -- just a bit of "local color". All of the links will open in a new window.

Virginia Railway Express - Regional Virginia rail service system map
AMTRAK - Long distance train service

Commuter Connection - Aid for those who carpool and need to stay late at work.
Slug Lines are truly unique to the Northern Virginia area. They are a sort of informal but organized way to grab a free ride into town. This is an old tradition that started and maintained locations purely "word of mouth" supplemented by an occasional article in the Post. In fact, some of the directions to stops on the recently-built website don't make sense unless you have lived here for some time. Long timers of the area know the Haft family stores and the Hechinger stores, all of which have gone out of business but are still used as landmarks!
Traffic Cameras are available if you want to drive yourself into work. We have plenty of traffic to watch!
We are always looking for local blogs that describe the area. Please call or email to nominate your favorite local blog.
